Rahman E et al., BMJ Open 2026
A systematic review of randomised controlled trials (RCTs) found only 3 small, short trials of coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) in heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) and concluded the evidence is insufficient to tell whether CoQ10 helps: deaths and heart-failure hospitalisations were too rare to analyse, and the one trial measuring quality of life gave conflicting results between its two comparisons. All primary-outcome evidence was rated very low certainty (GRADE). This is a null/uninformative review, not evidence of benefit or harm.
