Kayar NA et al., Lasers in Medical Science 2026

In an open-label, assessor-blinded RCT of 64 young patients after gingivectomy, a 940 nm diode-laser photobiomodulation protocol produced slower early wound epithelialisation and slightly higher early pain than a hyaluronic acid (HA) spray; 6-week gum outcomes were similar. There was no untreated or sham arm, so this does not show whether either treatment beats natural healing.
